Payments & Disputes

Last updated: September 5, 2026

1. Overview

This page describes how CreativeWork handles booking payments, cancellations, delivery issues, and disputes.

CreativeWork helps clients book creative services and facilitates the booking and payment process between clients and creators through Stripe. CreativeWork is a marketplace that coordinates that process. It is not itself the creative service being booked.

The payment schedule depends primarily on:

  • whether the creator accepts the booking request
  • how far away the event or service date is
  • whether the booking is Drop-in

The booking shown in CreativeWork records the applicable price, payment schedule, and cancellation terms for that booking.

2. Booking Requests and Creator Acceptance

Sending a booking request does not by itself create a charge.

You can cancel or withdraw your request before the creator accepts it, and you will not be charged.

If the creator accepts the request, the applicable payment is collected according to the schedule shown during checkout.

The creator must accept before a booking payment is collected.

  • For a standard request, the creator normally has 48 hours to respond.
  • For an urgent or Drop-in request, the creator normally has 4 hours to respond.
  • If the creator declines, or the request expires without a response, there is no booking charge.

These response windows are typical operating times and may vary in individual cases.

3. Service Price and CreativeWork Fee

The creator sets the service or package price. CreativeWork adds an 8% service fee on top of that price. Checkout shows the total client price before authorization.

Payment processing is handled through Stripe. CreativeWork does not add a separate Stripe processing fee as an extra client charge on top of the 8% service fee.

Example:

  • Creator price: NOK 5,000
  • CreativeWork service fee (8%): NOK 400
  • Client total: NOK 5,400

Exact amounts for a booking are shown during checkout and recorded with that booking.

4. Payment Schedules

The schedule below is the current CreativeWork booking payment model. Exact amounts and dates for your booking are shown during checkout and recorded with the booking.

When the creator acceptsWhat is collectedWhat happens next
30 or more days before the eventInitial payment of 10% of the client totalRemaining payment of 90% is normally scheduled approximately 25 days before the event
Less than 30 days before the eventFull paymentNo later Remaining payment is collected
Drop-in (same-day request)Full payment if the creator acceptsExact time and location can be arranged directly between client and creator

Bookings accepted 30 or more days before the event

  • Initial payment: 10% of the client total
  • Remaining payment: 90% of the client total
  • The Remaining payment is normally scheduled approximately 25 days before the event

Bookings accepted less than 30 days before the event

Full payment is collected after creator acceptance.

Drop-in

Drop-in is a same-day booking request available only on services where the creator enables it. The creator must still accept the request. Full payment applies if the request is accepted. Exact time and location can be arranged directly between the client and the creator.

5. Payment Methods and Authorization

Clients may save and use supported payment methods through Stripe. CreativeWork does not store full card details.

Payment authorization or setup may occur before the creator accepts so the applicable payment can be collected if the request is accepted. A booking request itself is not charged unless it is accepted.

6. Client Cancellation

Client refunds depend on whether the creator has accepted and how close the event is. The booking records the terms that apply to that booking.

When you cancelResult
Before creator acceptanceNo charge
After creator acceptance, more than 14 days before the event80% refund of the amount actually paid
After creator acceptance, 14 days or less before the eventNo refund under the standard rule
Drop-in, after creator acceptanceNo refund under the standard Drop-in cancellation rule

Before creator acceptance

You may cancel or withdraw the booking request before the creator accepts it. No booking payment is charged.

After creator acceptance — more than 14 days before the event

80% of the amount actually paid is refundable.

  • If only the Initial payment has been collected, the refund is 80% of that Initial payment.
  • If the Remaining payment has also been collected, the refund is 80% of the total amount paid.

14 days or less before the event

There is no refund after creator acceptance under the standard cancellation rule.

The booking may still be canceled operationally so both parties are notified, but cancellation during the non-refundable period does not create a client refund except where required by law or where another CreativeWork policy applies.

Drop-in

Before creator acceptance: no charge. After creator acceptance: no refund under the standard Drop-in cancellation rule.

7. Creator Cancellation

If the creator cancels an accepted booking before performing the service, the client is generally entitled to a full refund of booking payments collected for that booking.

CreativeWork may also record the cancellation, review repeated cancellations, and restrict or suspend creator activity where necessary.

8. Payment Failure

If a required payment cannot be completed:

  • CreativeWork may request another payment method
  • the booking may enter a payment-recovery state
  • if the required payment cannot be completed within the applicable recovery period, the booking may be canceled

If the Initial payment was already paid and a later Remaining payment cannot be completed after recovery, CreativeWork may cancel the booking. The Initial payment may be retained according to the applicable booking and cancellation rules.

9. Delivery and Completion

The creator is responsible for providing the booked service and any agreed deliverables within the delivery timing shown in the booking. The maximum Final Delivery Time is 6 weeks (42 days).

After the creator marks the work as Delivered, the client may confirm completion or report an issue. If the client does not respond within 48 hours, the booking becomes Completed automatically, unless a blocking CreativeWork dispute or payment condition applies.

CreativeWork may delay completion or payout eligibility while a delivery issue or dispute is unresolved.

10. Internal CreativeWork Disputes

An internal CreativeWork dispute is a review opened through CreativeWork about fulfilment of a booking. Examples may include:

  • creator no-show
  • non-delivery
  • materially incomplete delivery
  • serious mismatch with the booked service
  • suspected fraud
  • significant documented fulfilment problems

CreativeWork may review the booking record, package or service details, relevant messages, delivery information or evidence, and payment history.

Where CreativeWork Support resolves a CreativeWork booking dispute, the available payment outcomes are that the booking is completed, a full client refund of amounts collected for that booking, or an 80% client refund of amounts collected for that booking. Those outcomes are Support resolutions, not client or creator cancellations. CreativeWork does not offer other custom refund percentages as a standard dispute outcome.

CreativeWork may also place a payout or payment hold where technically available, or restrict or suspend an account. CreativeWork does not promise a specific outcome in any individual case.

11. Reporting a Problem

Clients should report a delivery or booking problem through the available CreativeWork booking, dispute, or support flow as soon as reasonably possible.

Where the product has a defined post-delivery review period, users should act within that period.

12. Refund Processing

Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method where possible.

Timing may depend on Stripe, the card issuer or bank, the payment method, and payment-network processing.

CreativeWork cannot guarantee the exact date a bank or card issuer posts the refund. Refunds are not instant.

13. Recovery Limitations

Where a creator cancels, fails to deliver, or a dispute is decided in the client's favour, CreativeWork will take reasonable steps to process or recover amounts that should be refunded.

In some cases, money may already have been transferred or paid out to a creator and may not remain immediately recoverable through the platform. CreativeWork does not guarantee that it will advance unrecoverable amounts from its own funds except where required by applicable law.

14. Card Disputes / Chargebacks

CreativeWork’s internal dispute process does not remove any separate rights the cardholder may have through their bank or card issuer.

A bank, card, or payment-provider dispute is separate from a CreativeWork internal dispute. Those processes can independently affect collected funds or payouts and are not solely controlled by CreativeWork.

CreativeWork may provide transaction or booking evidence, cooperate with Stripe and payment networks, and restrict an account while fraud or chargeback matters are reviewed.

15. Fraud and Abuse

CreativeWork may review, pause, restrict, or cancel transactions or accounts where there are reasonable fraud, abuse, payment-risk, or security concerns.

Examples may include repeated suspicious payment attempts, abusive cancellation patterns, fraudulent or non-delivery behavior, and misuse of payment or dispute systems.

16. Taxes, VAT and Invoices

Creators are responsible for understanding and meeting their own tax and VAT obligations relating to the services they provide, subject to applicable law.

An organisation number is optional. Where a Norwegian organisation number is provided, verified Brønnøysundregistrene data may inform or limit VAT declaration on the platform. CreativeWork does not guarantee provider tax compliance.

CreativeWork is responsible for its own platform and service-fee accounting and tax obligations.

The exact tax or VAT treatment of a booking may depend on the creator, the client, and applicable law.

CreativeWork does not treat the booking receipt as a VAT invoice and does not calculate or remit creator VAT.

17. Stripe

Payments are processed using Stripe. Stripe may process payment information according to its own terms and privacy policies.

CreativeWork does not store full card numbers or creator bank or identity documents that Stripe handles directly.

18. Changes to Payment Rules

CreativeWork may update payment and cancellation policies for future bookings.

Material changes should not retroactively alter the recorded terms of an already accepted booking except where required by law, necessary for security or fraud prevention, or agreed by the parties.
